The Process. From Mold to Masterpiece

  • 01 — The Cast

    A real fish.
A precise mold.
    Every replica begins with a real specimen. We cast it directly to capture every scale, every fin ray, every curve — details no sculpture from memory can replicate. The fish lives once. The mold remembers it forever.

  • 02 — The Build

    Fiberglass.
Built to outlast.The mold yields a hollow fiberglass shell — ultralight, UV-resistant, built for decades. Not taxidermy that decays. Not resin that yellows. A form that holds its shape and color for as long as it hangs on the wall.

  • 03 — The Painting

    Up to 18 layers.
By hand.
    David Velásquez builds the color in translucent passes — airbrush for depth, fine brush for detail. The iridescence, the lateral line, the eye. Each layer adds what the previous one couldn't. The result looks alive under any light.
